Born on 24 November 1903,〔''Who was Who'' 1897–1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 educated at the University of Saskatchewan and ordained in 1929 he began his career as a missionary at Eskimo Point.〔Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975/6 Lambeth, Church House Publishing 0108153674〕 Later he was the incumbent at All Saints Cathedral, Aklavik then Archdeacon of Baffin Land. The second Bishop of the diocese,〔(Diocesan history )〕 he died on 5 February 1973.〔Who was who (ibid)〕
